The Beacon Gallery - a thriving arts community near Newbury

The Beacon Gallery is situated in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty at the foot of Combe Gibbet, Upper Green ,near Hungerford, at the home of Liz and Gabriel Cave.

For many years the building was the milking parlour for the family's herd of Jersey cows. Those who have already visited the gallery have commented on the sympathetic conversion and peaceful atmosphere that pervades the environment. Children are intrigued to see the byres where the cows were fed and slept on the icy cold winter evenings in the sixties.

"A wonderful and inspiring initiative. The historic links and the new gallery rising up to show contemporary work will be widely appreciated"
